Sole Treadmill Reviews

Testing equipment at Sole headquarters.

*Note: GREAT DEAL! For a limited time, Sole is offering a free 1-year membership to their interactive fitness technology Studio with the purchase of any treadmill. $399 value!

At our last visit to Sole corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT, we met with two of the owners. During our visit, we discussed Sole treadmills and the philosophy behind them. As it was explained, the company’s goal is to offer the highest quality treadmills in their price range. Rather than spending money on bells and whistles, money is spent on components and engineering that can withstand abuse.

Throughout the years, we’ve watched this company go from a relatively unknown brand to a major player in the fitness equipment industry. Year after year, their models have been awarded numerous “Best Buy” and “Excellent” ratings and reviews in different categories from reputable magazines and review websites. That’s what happens when you offer exceptional quality at a great price.

What Sets Sole Apart?

Sole Treadmill ReviewsIf you have ever traveled to a few popular hotel chains and used a treadmill, you may have already experienced using a Sole treadmill. The origins of Sole treadmills were actually only dedicated for in-room guest use. The hotel chains that utilize Sole for their fitness equipment include Hotel Monaco, Omni Hotels, and Hilton Hotels. The Sole treadmills were such a hit for the hotel guests, that Sole began to manufacture their treadmills for home use as well. From the start, Sole treadmills were designed for rigorous hotel use, constructed with the best quality and performance features. Although Sole has since merged into the residential equipment category, the durability and integrity of their machines has not changed.

Another factor that sets Sole apart from other top brands in the industry is their outstanding equipment warranty. Over the years, we have seen a large increase in the price of treadmills, a decline in the quality of the equipment, and in addition – a lessening in the warranty offerings. This is not the case with Sole.

The team at Sole prioritizes making their equipment top-notch, while keeping their prices on the more affordable range in comparison to the competition out there. The craftsmanship that their engineering team puts into their treadmills is evident through their warranty. Most Sole treadmills have a lifetime warranty on both the motor and the frame. This is really an above average warranty for the fitness industry, and it speaks volumes about the confidence their company has in the construction of their machines.

Sole Treadmills: Top Features

As with any brand, there are both pros and cons. Some of the best features found on Sole Treadmills include:

Exceptional Quality Control – Our team spoke to the VP of Marketing at Sole, he told us about their quiet room process. As their treadmills come of the assembly line, they take each model and put it in a sealed quiet room to test for any flaws and unnatural sounds. They run on the machine and check the performance with a sound meter. Obviously, if there are any issues the machine gets rejected.

Another great quality control practice that Sole uses is that once the treadmill is approved, it is disassembled and packaged on custom designed crating to minimize shipping damage. They also weigh each package to determine if there are any missing parts. They use ABF for delivery, which has one of the best records for damage free delivery of fitness equipment. All these procedures significantly reduce any initial mechanical issues.

Cushion Flex Decks – Sole Treadmills use what is called a Cushion Flex Decks. This is a low impact joint friendly design. Which is a claim just about any manufacturer makes, but these decks tend to be very stable, while providing minimal stress to hips, knees ankles and spine. According to Sole, the deck “was recognized by a leading university as the industry’s best, providing a 365% lower impact than walking or running on asphalt.” Of course, any treadmill deck should be a vast improvement over running on asphalt. Regardless, we’ve run on these decks and found them to be stable, and yet forgiving to your joints.

Maintenance Free Motors – As with their other components Sole does not compromise on the quality of their motors. They use commercial grade McMillan motors, which has been producing industrial motors since 1976. The run effortlessly and are very quiet.

Bigger, Better Rollers – Sole builds their treadmills with the type of rollers that you would expect to see on high-end, luxury treadmill models. They use 2 3/4″ rollers with a sealed bearing design and copper ground wires for each roller to reduce static. Larger rollers make for a larger contact surface against the belt and longer roller and belt life. This makes for smooth, quiet, static free motion that will extend the life of the treadmill.

Treadbelts – On most of their treadmills they use a double woven 2-ply belts with four layers. The design consists of two rubber layers over a middle PVC layer with a nylon backing that rolls over the deck and rollers. The rubber provides the durability, the PVC stops the belt from over-stretching and the nylon provides a smooth static free surface to glide over the deck and rollers. In laymen terms, these belts should have minimal slippage and overall last longer than most belts found on other brands.

Sole Studio – The Best Interactive Fitness Technology

Studio Fitness TechnologySole has always been a brand that was known for not being as up to date with technology offerings as other brands because they place their primary focus on the quality of their machines. In 2021, Sole revealed another “top feature”, and became a premier partner with the interactive fitness technology known as Studio. Studio was designed to offer a workout experience that is accessible whether you are in your home or on the go. This platform meets you wherever you are in your fitness journey. You don’t have to be an advanced athlete to benefit from using the Studio application.

We had the opportunity to speak with one of the developers of Studio and get the inside scoop. There are 3 top features that set Studio apart from other interactive fitness programs that are available on the market.

Large Community – It’s nearly impossible to stay accountable in your fitness journey if you’re doing it alone. There is a real-time community leaderboard, that allows users to have competitions against other members in the Studio community. Not only will this incorporation of community access help keep you accountable, but it will also connect you to like-minded individuals who have the same goals toward health and fitness that you do. (Plus, a little friendly competition never hurt anyone.)

Consistent Motivation – Outside of the community leaderboard, there are several other features provided by Studio to keep your motivation pumping. The most unique feature is what’s known as FITCOIN. FITCOIN is the fitness point system for the Studio program that allows members to level up based on their workout progress. The best part is you aren’t just gathering FITCOIN for nothing. In addition to boosting your health, you can redeem your FITCOIN for prizes within the application.

Data Accuracy – This program is extremely data driven, which is very important. Research has shown time and time again that people who track their fitness are much more likely to reach their fitness goals. Every class offered in Studio integrates with a heart rate monitor to provide detailed heart rate metrics in real time. The application also pulls data from your Sole cardio equipment to show you live information during your workout.

Programs from Studio

Rather than just using your cardio machine in the same old way day after day, using the programs from Studio will help you keep your workout routine fresh and exciting. Currently, there are over 3,000 workouts available within Studio and that number will only continue to grow. There are new fitness classes added to their application every single day. As their mantra of ‘something for everyone’ would suggest, there are a huge variety of workout types available for members to choose from.

The types of workout classes currently available from Studio include:

  • Treadmill
  • Elliptical
  • Cycling
  • Boxing
  • Rowing
  • Strength
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • & more!

The workout programs are designed with you in mind. The programs are driven toward helping members reach their fitness goals, no matter which method of workout that you decide to utilize in the process. One of the most popular treadmill programs available is the Zero to 5K treadmill class. As you may have guessed by the name, this program will help you go from running “zero” to being able to run your first 5K by the completion of the program.

The program instructors are qualified experts in the health and fitness industry. All of the instructors are NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified. Most of the trainers also have experience from world-renowned fitness places such as Peloton, Apple Fitness, Rumble Boxing, Barry’s Bootcamp, Orangetheory, Equinox, Aaptiv, and more.

Studio offers their members top-notch training instructors that you will have access to right in the comfort of your own home. As an added bonus – Studio prides themselves in integrating killer playlists with their classes to help you stay motivated all while having fun jamming to some of the best tracks.

One of the most well-known interactive fitness technologies on the market today is iFit. iFit is available on machines made by the parent company Icon, which are the brands NordicTrack and ProForm. For a long time, iFit was the only option available in the industry. If you were wanting cardio equipment that had the capabilities of fitness technology, you had to choose a NordicTrack of ProForm machine in order to get access to this type of program.

Studio vs. iFit Comparison

However, just because iFit was the only option for a long time, doesn’t mean that it is the best option now.

Over the years, we have seen a decline in the popularity of the iFit technology. When it was first launched, iFit was included for 1-year FREE with the purchase of any cardio equipment from NordicTrack or ProForm. This was a really great deal for consumers. However, now iFit only comes with a 30-day trial. A 30-day trial is a nice option for users, so that you have a month to try out the technology and see if it’s the right fit for you. The real problem that we have seen is the major spike in their membership cost.

Pricing

Studio and iFit both come with a 30-day free trial. After the 30 days are up, there is a monthly recurring cost to maintain your membership to the fitness application. For an iFit membership, users can expect to pay $39/month for the monthly family plan, or $396/annually. In contrast, Studio is much more affordable. Their monthly family plan is $19.99/month, or $200 for the whole year. This is quite the price difference and can save your family some serious change over time.

Features

As far as features go, we have not seen anything that is offered from iFit that justifies the extreme price difference between the two. In fact, it’s actually the opposite. After extensive research and speaking with program developers, we have been more impressed with the features offered from Studio. The features offered on their application seem to be more focused on aiding with helping members accomplish their goals at an affordable price point. Plus, we really like the fun add-on of FITCOIN, which provides an additional way to stay motivated and keep your fitness goals fun.

The Winner: Studio

Using an interactive fitness program on your cardio equipment is a great option to help you reach your health and fitness goals at a faster pace. When it comes down to choosing between purchasing a NordicTrack or ProForm machine to access iFit or purchasing from Sole to access Studio, we think that Studio is the all-around better option.

Sole F63 Treadmill Review

The Sole F63 treadmill is their entry level model and for years has been one of the best values at the $999 price range. This year, the Sole F63 was awarded “Best in Price Range”, “Best Buy”, and “Great Price for Quality”.

The Sole F63 is priced at $999. 30 Day Money-Back Guarantee!

Sole F63 TreadmillWith the Sole F63 you are getting one of the most durable $999 treadmills on the market. It is ideal for walkers and joggers. For the money, this machine comes with some excellent features.

3.0 Continuous Duty HP Motor – This motor is sufficient for both walking and jogging. It comes with a lifetime warranty, which suggests it seldom ever burns out. The motor enables a range of speeds, up to 12 MPH.

20” x 60” Treadbelt – This is almost unheard of on a <$1,000 treadmill machine. The standard length is 55”. The extra 5 inches will really make a difference and make for a roomy deck space.

2.5″ Rollers — For the price, these are decent size rollers. Larger rollers reduce the wear and tear on the belt and the bearings. With larger rollers, you have less rotation and more contact between the belt and the roller. That means the belt has to revolve less. It also means less work for the bearings. Bearings are one of the components that burn out on a treadmill. Overall, the large rollers should extend the treadmill life.

Noise Level — The F63 is not one of the quietest treadmills on the market, but we would consider it on-par with other brand models in the same price range. If you live in a second-floor apartment, you may have issues with your downstairs neighbors.

Sole F63 Treadmill ReviewSpeed and Incline Controls on Siderails — Some people may find this a minor feature, but we really like the ability to control the speed and incline without having to awkwardly lean over the console. There are 15 levels of incline on the F63 treadmill to give you the option to really get your heart pumping, simulating going up a hill.

Shock Absorption – The Cushion Flex Whisper Deck can reduce joint impact by up to 40%. A great option for this price range.

Console and Display – The console has a single window 6.5″ white LCD display that provides multiple stat feedbacks.

Weight Limit and Dimensions – The suggested weight limit for this machine is 325 lbs. The machine itself weighs 254 lbs. The dimensions are 82” L x 35” W x 66” H. It has a step-up height of 8”.

Additional Features – Easy Assist Folding for storage; Bluetooth speakers; USB port, tablet holder, cooling fans, chest strap included, 10 built in workout programs

Warranty – Lifetime frame & motor; 3-year deck, electronics, and parts; 1-year labor

Sole F65 Treadmill Review

Although Sole Fitness has always had an impressive line-up of treadmills, they had a wide gap from their entry level Sole F63 treadmill to their popular Sole F80 treadmill.  In fact, it was a $600 gap from $999 to $1,599.  And they probably lost sales to individuals who wanted a slightly heavier duty machine than the F63 without spending 50% more. The F65 treadmill was the “happy-medium” model that solved this issue. It’s actually similar in many ways to the F80 but it costs $200 less.

The Sole F65 is reduced to $1,399.99 with $99 flat rate shipping. A great value!

Sole F65 TreadmillThis treadmill is ideal for walking, jogging, and running. The F65 essentially combines the features of the F63 and the F80 models.

3.25 Continuous Duty HP Motor – The motor is design for both walkers and runners.  It will run quiet and effortlessly even at higher speeds. The F65 provides speeds from .5 to 12 MPH. All the Sole treadmill motors are extremely durable. That is why they come with lifetime warranties.

22″ x 60″ Treadbelt – The length is adequate for jogging and running. Taller individuals should definitely get a belt that is at least 60″ long. Plus, this is a nice wide running surface.

2.5” Rollers – Most potential treadmill buyers do not realize the importance of rollers.  Larger rollers extend the life of the belt, motor and bearings.  In particular with larger rollers the belt has more area to grip.  2.5″ rollers are decent size for this price.

Console Design and Layout – Sole has always done an above average job of designing a user-friendly console that also looks good. The machine has a white 7.5” backlit LCD display that continually shows speed, incline, time, distance traveled, calories, pulse and pace.

Sole F65 Treadmill ReviewSpeed and Incline Adjustment on Handrails — We’ve always liked this feature.  You can adjust the speed and incline right on the handrails rather than having to break your stride and make changes on the console. The incline goes up to a challenging 15%.

Cushion Flex Whisper Deck – The shock absorption on this machine is advertised to reduce impact up to 40% in order to protect your joints.

Weight Limit and Dimensions – The suggested weight limit for this machine is 350 lbs. The machine itself weighs 262 lbs. The dimensions are 82” L x 37” W x 66” H.

Sole F80 Treadmill Review

When we’re asked for a recommendation for a durable treadmill at a reasonable price, our go to model is the Sole F80. The Sole F80 Treadmill has gotten consistently solid reviews over the years since it is a very sturdy machine at a moderate price.

When you run on the Sole F80 treadmill it has just the right amount of give to absorb your impact.  It finds that perfect balance between being too springy or too stiff.

The Sole F80 is priced at $1,599.99. Sole is Currently Offering the Best Warranty Coverage for a Residential Treadmill: Lifetime Motor; 5-Year Parts and 2-Year Labor. $99 flat rate shipping. A great value!

Sole F80 TreadmillIn the 20 years of our team reviewing treadmills, the F80 has always been the standard for other treadmill to achieve, and has been a best buy since we started our review.

This year, the Sole F80 was awarded “Best in Class”, “Best Buy”, “Best Quality for Price”, and “Top Rated for Home Use”. Another trusted consumer magazine also gave the Sole F80 a “Best Buy” and rated an “Excellent” in all categories of construction, ease of use, user safety, ergonomics, and exercise range. Every time we have visited the Sole headquarters and test the F80, it has just become a stronger competitor.

Priced in the mid-range category, this treadmill has some impressive features.

3.5 HP Motor – This is a large motor for the price range, and it offers speeds up a challenging 12 MPH. It can handle some serious mileage.

22″ x 60″ Treadbelt – The width and length on the F80 make this machine ideal for walkers, joggers, and runners.

Crowned 2.5″ Rollers – The crowned 2 1/2″ rollers are some of the largest you will find in this price range. In general, larger rollers are better, since they revolve less. The increased size results in less wear on the rollers, motor, belt and bearings. Since they are ‘crowned,’ the roller is slightly bigger in the center. This allows the belt to track better, reducing the need for adjustments and further increasing the longevity of the belt.

Sole F80 Treadmill ReviewConsole – The console is one of the better designs we’ve seen. The 9″ white backlit LCD display is visually appealing, and the console also includes a cooling fan. Controls are present for speed, incline, time, distance, calories burned, pulse and pace displayed simultaneously. There is no need to scroll for information.

Speed & Incline Control – There are speed and incline controls on the arm rests. Having the controls on the arm rests makes for simple adjustments in contrast to awkwardly having to reach over to the console. This is especially true if you are running. There are 15 levels of incline options.

Cushion Flex Running Deck – This deck does a great job at shock absorption and reducing the possibility of injuries and strains. It is also advertised as being quieter than other decks with a reversible deck that is wax lubricated.

Weight Limit and Dimensions – The suggested weight limit for this machine is 375 lbs. The machine itself weighs 278 lbs. The dimensions are 82” L x 37” W x 66” H. It has a step-up height of 8”.

Additional Features – Easy Assist Folding for storage; Bluetooth speakers; USB port, tablet holder, cooling fans, chest strap included, 10 built in workout programs

Warranty – Lifetime frame & motor; lifetime deck, 5-year electronics, and parts; 2-year labor. This is one of the best warranties in the fitness equipment industry today.

Sole F85 TreadmillThis treadmill is a commercial value machine offered at a residential price point. This year the F85 from Sole was awarded “Best Buy Under $2,000” and “Top In Its Class”. It has some pretty impressive features – including one of the most powerful motors that is available on a residential treadmill.

4.0 Continuous Duty HP Motor – A 4.0 HP motor is like having an 8-cylinder hemi under the hood. It will run effortlessly at high speeds. This size motor is about as powerful as it gets for home use. The speed range is .5 – 12 MPH. There are 15 incline levels.

22″ x 60″ Treadbelt – The length is ideal for both jogger and runners, and for individuals with long strides. You won’t feel like you are about to fall of the end. This extra wide 22″ tread belt is usually found only on commercial grade models.

Speed and Incline Controls on Handlebars – As runners, this is a feature we particularly like. You can change up the speed and incline without having to lean over the console, which often causes breaks in your stride.

Extra Large 2.75″ Crowned Rollers – The larger roller surface means less revolutions, which translates into less wear and tear on the treadbelt, rollers, bearings and the motor. The larger rollers will also reduce the noise level. Being ‘crowned,’ the roller is slightly bigger in the center. This allows the belt to track better, reducing the need for adjustments and further increasing the longevity of the belt.

Sole F85 Treadmill ReviewPremium Console and 10.1” TFT LCD Display – The console has a smart touchscreen layout. Displays include speed, Incline, time, distance traveled, calories, pulse and pace.

Wireless (Telemetric) Heart Rate Control – If you are serious about getting the optimum workout, then HRC is an attractive feature. It’s a telemetric 5KHZ HR receiver. Many professional athletes use HRC to maximize their workouts. There is also chest strap included for tracking capability if you prefer that method.

Cushion Flex Whisper Deck – The deck on Sole treadmills is designed to keep your joints safe even during intense running workouts.

NEW!! Mirroring Capability – This is a brand-new exclusive feature on the F85 treadmill. You can now mirror your favorite shows from your phone or tablet over Wi-Fi and cast it onto your treadmill display screen. Catch up on your favorite sitcom and get your workout in… Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

Weight Limit and Dimensions – The suggested weight limit for this machine is 400 lbs. The machine itself weighs 308 lbs. The dimensions are 82” L x 37” W x 66” H. It has a step-up height of 8”.

Additional Features – Easy Assist Folding for storage; Bluetooth speakers; USB port, tablet holder, cooling fans, chest strap included, 25 built in workout programs

Warranty – Lifetime frame & motor; lifetime deck, 5-year electronics, and parts; 2-year labor. A really impressive warranty.

Sole S77 Treadmill Review

The Sole S77 treadmill is the non-folding version of the popular F85 treadmill from Sole. They are typically priced around the same price range, sometimes the S77 will go on sale as it doesn’t have the folding capabilities. If you do not want a folding treadmill and you really like the features of the F85 machine, look no further than the S77.

The Sole S77 is priced at $1,999.99 with $99 flat rate shipping. An excellent value!

Shop now at www.SoleTreadmills.com

Sole S77 TreadmillOver the years, our team has consistently given the S77 as well as the F85 “Best Buy” ratings because these treadmills are built to take the abuse of serious users. Both of these treadmills are equipped with high-quality components, and you really can’t go wrong with either. The difference comes down to whether or not you will be folding up your treadmill when it’s not in use.

4.0 Continuous Duty HP Motor – As mentioned with the F85 treadmill, this is one of the largest motors you will find on a residential treadmill. It is built to run effortlessly at high speeds. Enjoy challenging speeds up to 12 MPH, with 15 levels of incline.

22″ x 60″ Treadbelt – If you are a runner and/or are tall, the extra length is a necessity. You get a 22″ wide belt, adding an extra comfort zone for running. A 22″ width is usually found only on commercial grade models.

Extra Large 2.75″ Crowned Rollers – The large rollers extend the life of not only the rollers, but also the bearings and the belt. Crowned rollers, which are larger in the center, do a better job of tracking while further extending the life of the belt. Usually this is the size rollers you would find on a $4,000+ treadmill.

Sole S77 Treadmill ReviewNon-Folding Design – Most people who buy a treadmill of this caliber seldom require a folding function. The benefits of a non-folding treadmill are more stability and a solid feel. Combined with the 250 lb. unit weight, it would take a sumo wrestler doing interval training to rock this machine. We recommend you get the inside delivery option. This treadmill is a bear to move.

10.1” TFT LCD Console and Display – Sole put some thought into the design and layout of this console, and the result is one of the most stylish and functional displays on the market.

Speed and Incline Controls on Handlebars – As runners, this is a feature we particularly like. You can change up the speed and incline without having to lean over the console, which often causes breaks in your stride.

Intuitive Heart Rate Control – Use your heart rate to get the optimum workout. HRC is used by many professional athletes.  In the heart rate training mode, the machine will automatically adjust incline to keep you in your target heart rate zone. The S77 allows for an intuitive functionality that automatically adjusts the incline to maintain your target heart rate.

Cushion Flex Whisper Deck – The standard Cushion Flex deck from Sole is very forgiving for your joints.

Weight Limit and Dimensions – The suggested weight limit for this machine is 400 lbs. The machine itself weighs 258 lbs. The dimensions are 82” L x 36” W x 58” H. It has a step-up height of 8”. This treadmill is slightly more compact than the similar F85.

Additional Features – Easy Assist Folding for storage; Bluetooth speakers; USB port, tablet holder, cooling fans, pulse grips and chest strap compatible (chest strap included), 10 built in workout programs

Warranty – Lifetime frame & motor; lifetime deck, 5-year electronics, 2-year labor. A fantastic warranty but not as good as the warranty on the F85.

Sole TT8 Treadmill Review

The TT8 is the beast of Sole treadmill models. It actually is also available for lite commercial use yet cost less than $3,000. It is probably an overkill for residential use, but if you have the money and want the best of the best, this machine rocks.

The Most Durable Residential Treadmill on the market is currently reduced to $2,499 with a 30 day money back guarantee!

Shop now at www.SoleTreadmills.com

Because the TT8 treadmill is offered for light commercial use, it means this treadmill is engineered for the abuse of multiple users/runners. This year, the TT8 was awarded “Best Price for Commercial Grade”. It’s a hefty, durable, overall monster of a machine with unbeatable construction features.

Dual Motors – The dual motors include a 4.0 Continuous Duty HP motor, giving you options of cranking it up to 12 MPH.

Sole TT8 TreadmillIncline and Decline – The TT8 is the only treadmill from Sole that offers decline capabilities. This treadmill has a range of -6 decline up to 15 levels of incline. Being able to decline will allow you to target more muscle groups and mimic going up and down hills right on your treadmill. Best of all, since the TT8 comes with the standard Cushion Flex deck, even challenging inclines and declines will be gentle on your joints.

10.1″ TFT LCD Display – This easy to read display allows you to track your workout stats.  It’s clear and easy to manipulate.

3″ Rollers – As we’ve mentioned in other reviews, larger rollers are always better. These are the largest treadmill rollers you will find at any price range. Larger rollers reduce wear and extend the life of the rollers, motor, bearings, and belt.

1″ Reversible Deck – Meaning you can turn over the deck to extend the life.

Heavy Duty 2-Ply Treadbelt – Designed for a commercial setting, the 22” x 60” deck space will give ample room for taller users and those with long running strides.

Weight Limit and Dimensions – The suggested weight limit for this machine is 400 lbs. The machine itself weighs in at a whopping 322 lbs. The dimensions are 82” L x 36” W x 58” H. It has a step-up height of 8”. Due to the extremely heavy and stable design of the TT8, this machine does not have an option to be folded.

Additional Features – Easy Assist Folding for storage; Bluetooth speakers; USB port, tablet holder, cooling fans, pulse grips and chest strap compatible, 9 built in workout programs

Warranty – The residential warranty option for the TT8 treadmill is lifetime frame, motor, and deck, 5-years electronics, and 2-years labor.

What makes the ST90 such a rock star of a machine? We’ll let the features speak for themselves…

Sole ST90 Treadmill ReviewSlat Belt Deck – This style of deck is an innovative design from Sole. The technology mimics a conveyor belt in motion. What this means is that while you’re running, there will be less friction, creating a more comfortable and safe experience during exercise. While it looks thinner, looks can be deceiving. The slat belt technology also provides low-impact strike to help lessen joint impact. In addition, the slat belt deck style will present less wear over time in comparison to a standard style treadmill belt.

Motor – The motor on the ST90 is the only treadmill from Sole that offers an AC motor. AC motors are widely known for their ability to operate at higher levels of power output. Essentially… AC motors are more powerful and efficient than DC motors. The ST90 comes with a 2.0 HP AC motor that will allow you to push yourself up to speeds of 12 MPH.

Incline – Enjoy up to 15 levels of incline to really challenge and grow your cardiovascular strength. Note: The ST90 does not offer decline.

10.1″ TFT-LCD Display – The touch panel screen gives you quick access to workout stats, as well as the ability to utilize the Studio fitness technology. There is also an integrated tablet holder so you can use your phone or device to display your favorite media while you exercise.

Handlebar Adjustment Technology – Intuitive handlebar controls allow you to make adjustments to both speed and incline as needed, without ever missing a step in your workout.

Weight Limit and Dimensions – The weight capacity on the ST90 is a little lighter than we would like to see for a commercial grade machine. This is likely due to the differentiated deck style. The weight limit is 330 lbs., and the treadmill dimensions are 70″ L x 65″ H x 33.5″ W. The running deck is 20″ x 60″.

Additional Features  – Bluetooth Speakers, WiFi, Screen Casting, Pulse + Telemetric HR Monitoring

Warranty – Lifetime frame and motor, 3-years deck, electronics and parts, 1-year labor

Sole Treadmill Cons

The central thread of complaints that we have heard over the years concerning Sole treadmill machines is the lack of technology integrations. In the last year, Sole has begun to improve on this notion by partnering with Studio and offering a free 30-day trial of the interactive technology on all of their treadmills. However, in comparison to other brands, Sole is fairly behind when it comes to technology. The most noteworthy cons to keep in mind before investing in a Sole treadmill include:

  • Speaker quality. In comparison to other top brands, the speakers offered from Sole are nothing to write home about.
  • Screen size. There are many other treadmill brands that feature huge screens on their treadmill models, the largest one from Sole is the 10.1”.
  • Heavy equipment. Because the treadmills are designed in such a durable manner, they are really heavy. Some consumers find that as a con in contrast to other brands who advertise “lightweight” designs.
  • Lacking fans. Although Sole treadmills come with cooling fans, they are not the best fans available on the market.

As with any brand, there are both pros and cons. The main concerns that arise with Sole are the technology features. If you are looking for a machine that is more interactive and comes with a wider variety of technological advancements, we suggest a brand like NordicTrack or ProForm.

**Shipping Note: All Sole treadmills come with $99 flat rate standard delivery. For their standard delivery, the driver will back the truck up as far as they can (which is sometimes at the end of your driveway) and unload your treadmill box for you. Treadmills can often be awkward to move and typically require more than one person. Sole now offers Assembly Authority Delivery for $249.98. An Assembly Authority Tech will unload the treadmill to the designated room of your choice, assemble it, and demonstrate the functionality for you. This new delivery option is a great deal in our opinion to mitigate the issue of having to unload heavy machinery by yourself into your home.

The Final Verdict: Sole Treadmills

Our review team have consistently been impressed with Sole and the products that they release. If there is one word that we could use to summarize Sole and their treadmills it would be reliable. Although their products may not be the savviest when it comes to technology, these machines are designed to last. Over the years as Sole has exploded as a brand, we have seen the commitment their company has to maintaining the best quality of equipment paired with the best customer service on the market. In our opinion, Sole has one of the best customer service departments in the fitness industry today.

With other brands, we constantly read complaints that consumers can’t even get an answer from a customer service representative after spending thousands on a treadmill from their company. Sole treats each and every one of their customers like they know them. Their customer support staff is extremely capable and reliable. If you’re on the market for a new treadmill and looking for a tough option with the best warranty options along with diligent customer support, a treadmill from Sole will be a great investment for you.
