Does Newer Mean Better?

At the end of 2020, NordicTrack revamped their treadmill inventory. Some of the changes that they made included discontinuing older models and introducing new models. One of the most popular line of treadmills that NordicTrack produces is known as their T-Series of treadmills. The NordicTrack EXP 10i treadmill is manufactured by the parent company, Icon Fitness. NordicTrack EXP 10i Features –

3.5 CHP DurX Commercial Plus Motor – This is a really powerful motor that will be able to handle miles of use, from light walking to avid running. This motor features their SMART-Response Drive System that enables self-cooling and reduced vibration of the motor.

20” x 60” Treadbelt – The standard treadbelt size that we see is 20″ x 55″. Although it may not seem like much, the extra 5″ makes a difference. The 60″ length will make this machine more comfortable for tall users and those with a longer running stride.

Incline AND Decline – A decline feature is something we do not see much on a treadmill at this price point. The EXP 10i allows you to go from -3% decline to 12% incline to mimic going up and down hills. This will take your HIIT workouts to a whole different level! 

0-12 MPH – A top speed of 12 MPH is nothing to look over. Most treadmills will max out at 10 MPH, so if you want to have the option to push yourself during your workouts – this is a really great feature. 

FlexSelect™ Cushioning – The cushioning on the EXP 10i is designed to mimic running on a real road surface, and soften the impact on your joints.

10” Smart HD Touchscreen – A 10″ display screen will be sufficient for most people. It’s certainly not the largest that we see out there, but it is a good size for the price point of the EXP 10i. Although it’s not a giant screen, the 10″ SMART Touchscreen will enable you to take advantage of your 30-day iFit membership that’s included with your machine purchase. Note: If you want to continue using iFit after your 30-day trial expires, it is a $39/month subscription fee. 

iFit is NordicTrack’s interactive training program and video library. Here are some features you can find with iFit…

Live and On-Demand Workouts: Workout anytime and anywhere you want with over 17,000 available videos to choose from. You’ll be able to choose from different exercise categories as well as time duration of the workout.

Trainer-Led Workouts: It sounds too good to be true, but iFit technology allows you to workout with qualified personal trainers right on your treadmill in the comfort of your own home. Choose from 130+ professional iFit trainers. Your personal trainer will be able to control your decline, incline, and speed interactively during your workout for you.

Travel the World: iFit is integrated with Google Maps technology. This integration allows you to take your workouts virtually anywhere. Stay motivated and entertained while working out around the globe!

Stat Tracking: Stay accountable with your fitness goals (and create new ones!) by keeping a track of your stats. If you like a little friendly competition, you can choose to share your workout stats to the iFit leaderboard to compete with others.

Community: Although you may be working out at home alone, join an iFit community support group to help keep yourself motivated and inspired on your exercise journey.

Our Review:  NordicTrack EXP 10i Treadmill

NordicTrack has continued to roll out equipment in the mid-range category that have impressive technological as well as constructional features. The NordicTrack EXP 10i is no exception to their advancements. This treadmill is a great option for walkers, joggers, and runners.

For a budget priced treadmill, the specs on this machine do not disappoint. For less than $2,000, features like a 10″ touchscreen, 3.5 CHP commercial motor, a lengthy 60″ treadbelt, and decline capabilities are nothing to shake a stick at.
