Yowza Fitness Delray Grande Treadmill

What’s Up with Yowza Lately?

Yowza Fitness Delray Grande TreadmillThe Delray line of treadmills is named after a beach in Florida where the Yowza Fitness is headquartered.  This Delray Grande model is the second from the top in terms of features within this line.  It is a solid built treadmill for runners and has previously made our “Best Buy” recommendation.

However, something’s up with Yowza lately.  The company is not what it used to be and we’ve seen products going out of stock and response from the representatives declining.  For that reason, it’s no longer our top choice for customer satisfaction.

There were four machines in the Delray line with progressively larger motors, thicker tread belts, added length, and of course, increased price. Now, they only produce two of these models.

Yowza Fitness is OUT OF BUSINESS.

We are still waiting to hear more information about this company but it seems they are no longer producing machines.

NOTE: We feel more confident in recommending other more reliable brands like the NordicTrack C1650.

Features on this Machine

— Machine weight is 260 lbs. which will support a user up to 300 lbs.  Other Delray machines have the same user rating but have 50 lbs less in bracing and structural support.  The extra bracing on this machine will result on less shake and provide a great user experience.

–Deck length at 60” works well for most runners.  Unless you have an exceptionally long stride length, this deck will work well.

–Belt Thickness is the thickest one available in this line up which adds to the durability.

–Pricing:  We feel the extra $200 is worth the money for the Grande over the Delray Plus but spending another $200 at $1599 for the Elite doesn’t seem to make sense.  The Grande is our “Best Buy” recommendation this pricing category and for those reasons received our Five Star Rating.

Yowza Fitness Delray Grande Treadmill Features

Deck and Shock Absorption Design — The Yowza Fitness Delray Grande treadmill uses Swing Arm Suspension to cushion the runner’s knees, hips, and back from the abuse of constant running.  Rather than a squishy deck with variable cushioning like in some of the competition, you will find that this is a stiffer running surface where the entire deck moves up and down with your steps.  This type of shock absorption is similar to what you might find in your car.  The swing arm at the front of the machine is what allows this motion.  Although it is a matter of personal preference, whether you like a squishy or stiffer running surface, many people will tell you that they love this type of suspension.

3.25 Continuous Duty HP Motor — All Yowza motors are well built and quiet.  This size motor is more than adequate to handle constant running.

20? x 60? Deck Size — This size deck is only three inches shorter than the longest standard size you’ll find on treadmills.  It is still a nice length and should work well for most individuals.

Treadbelt – The belt on the Delray Grande is 2.5 mm, which is significantly thicker than the next model down, the Delray Plus, at only 1.8mm.  A thicker belt means overall better wear and a longer lifespan.

300 Lb. Unit Weight — This is a solid and stable machine that can handle running.

Mediaport – The Delray Grande treadmill has a media port with a connection cable forYowza Fitness Delray Grande Treadmill console your MP3 device.  The port area is separate from the main treadmill display so your speed and other stats won’t be blocked.

Workout Programs — This machine comes with the ability to save seven user profiles and has fifteen programs.  This is a nice variety of programs including a Heart Rate Control Program, a Fitness Test, and a 5K LEARN program.

Heart Rate Control —The Delray Grande comes with a wireless heart rate chest strap.  This type of monitor provides more accurate readings on a constant basis than the hand grips.

Console Design and Features — The console includes two narrow water bottle holders, heart rate hand grips, a safety clip, quick press speed and incline buttons, and an LCD display.  The machines can reach speeds of 11.2mph and has 12 levels of incline.

Warranty – Lifetime on motor and frame, 5 years on parts and electronics, 2 years on labor.  This is a strong warranty that shows Yowza’s confidence in their product.

Our Review – Yowza Fitness Delray Grande Treadmill

This company has changed a lot in the last year.  We’d recommend you check out other brands like Sole, NordicTrack, or ProForm instead of diving in to the potential mess that is Yowza.
