A great thing about having your own personal treadmill is that it makes working out and staying in shape so simple and convenient! Of course, you still have to put forth the effort and do the exercise. Looking at the treadmill or decorating it with laundry isn't going to do you much good.
Home treadmills have become quite popular over the last several years. New models with the latest designs and options are constantly being developed, so that even the least expensive models offer some nice features. Just keep in mind that lower end treadmills are typically made with cheaper parts, and you usually get what you pay for!
It's a good idea to shop around and compare products before investing in a new treadmill. You generally wouldn't buy a pair of jeans if they didn't fit properly, would you? The same ought to be true of buying a treadmill. You should choose one that best fits your needs.
At first glance, the Horizon T90 treadmill appears to be a nice machine for its price. ( As of 12/01/08 , you could get this treadmill at Horizon's online store for $599.00.) Now, compare the T90 to the ProForm 680 Trainer treadmill. You may be surprised to discover that you get a little more for your money with the ProForm 680 than with the Horizon T90. ( As of 12/01/08, the ProForm 680 Trainer was also going for $599.00.)
Below are a few comparisons between the Horizon T90 and the ProForm 680:

The Horizon T90 has a rather small running surface, so if you are tall and have a longer stride, you probably won't be very comfortable on this particular model. If you weigh in excess of 200 pounds or plan to use the treadmill mainly for running, this machine may not hold up long under that kind of pounding. Also, if you need a treadmill for more than one user, you should consider getting something of higher quality.
The T90 comes with only four workout programs. If you plan to be the sole user of the treadmill, however, and plan to use it primarily for walking, the four programs that come on the T90 may be adequate. At least you have the option to change up your workout routine somewhat, and you can always increase the incline and/or speed levels for a more intense workout. Nevertheless, I don't recommend using this particular model for heavy running.
Our Review - Horizon T90 Treadmill
Horizon offers a number of treadmills, and some are very good values. However, they compete head-on with Icon Fitness, that sells ProForm, NordicTrack, Epic and Healthrider. Icon offers some hard to beat deals at the sub $1,000 price range. In the case of the Horizon T90 I feel you can find some better bargains through either ProForm or NordicTrack. At the very least, you will get a bigger deck and larger motor for the same price.
Note: If your budget is limited and you can afford around $600, whether you purchase the Horizon T90 or another comparable model, consider upgrading the warranty. That way, if the machine has any problems, you're covered.
