My previous review of the ProForm iLOG 550 recommended you take a pass. That was before they dropped the price $800. At the current price of $799, with shipping you get some nice features and a decent warranty.

The ProForm iLOG 550 Pros:

ifit Fitness Journal - The electronic journal allows you to generate daily, weekly, monthly and fitness reports. Getting regular feedback on your progress can be an excellent motivator. It gives you benchmarks to reach and exceed.

28 Workout Programs - In addition to eight classic exercise programs that control the speed and incline of the treadmill, you also get 20 customizable workouts, allowing you to adjust the exertion level to help you achieve your fitness goals.

iPod Docking Station and Speakers - Studies show that music motivates people to exercise. That is why you so often see people exercising with headphones. Rather than having the hassle of wires and headsets, you can listen to music right from the treadmill.

Generous Warranty - ProForm is not known for their warranty coverage. They have generally provide below average warranties, with the idea of selling additional coverage. Ninety days parts and labor is often standard. The ProForm iLOG 550 treadmill comes with a lifetime motor, 2 year parts and 1 year labor warranty.

Our Review - ProForm iLOG 550

For a $799 this treadmill is a decent value. The speaker system, programs and warranty make it a consideration in its' price range.

It should be noted that ProForm suggests a weight limit of 325 lbs. Yeah right! I would not recommend this machine for anyone over 225 lbs. Also, this treadmill is geared towards walkers, and maybe light joggers.

You should also consider the Smooth 5.65 treadmill. When it is selling $999 w/shipping, it offers good value. It comes with a 3-year parts warranty and a 2.5 hp motor.
