The NordicTrack Elite 7000 treadmill is a heavy-duty machine packed with an impressive selection of features. Every once and awhile they come out with a machine that has countless options and sell it for a very competitive price. This treadmill is a perfect example.

Premium Sound System with Plug-in Port - This is one of the best sound systems you will find on any treadmill, and it also includes a subwoofer. It is set up to plug-in your iPod and listen to your favorite tunes.

20" x 60" Treadbelt - Most treadmills come with a 54" long belt. The extra 6" on the Elite 7000 belt can really make a difference. It is ideal for tall individuals and people who like to sprint or interval train.

Wireless Heart Rate Control - Comes with a wireless strap for your chest. Allows you to control the level of your exertion by the rate of your heart. Experts claim this is the optimum method of exercising.

ifit® Workout Card Technology - The ifit technology is one of the most innovative ideas to come out of the industry. For an extra fee, you can purchase a serious of exercise programs created by professional fitness trainers. It is a great way to get motivated, burn off those extra calories, and get yourself in shape.

Each program offers an 8-week exercise series. They control the speed and the incline of the machine. To further motivate you, the programs include audio coaching. A personal trainer encourages you while providing tips on how to maximize your workout.

2.5 Continuous Duty HP Motor - This motor is sufficient for walkers and joggers. If you are a serious runner you'll want to consider a treadmill with a 3.0 hp motor or better.

Warranty - The 7000 comes with one the best warranties available on a NordicTrack treadmill. Usually I recommend extending the warranty; however, this one has a lifetime motor, 5-year parts and 1-year labor coverage. Still, you may want to consider upgrading to 2-year service coverage.

Adjustable Cushioning Deck - You can change the absorption level from soft to stiff. You can adjust for either a firm surface for a better push off or a softer surface for less impact.

2.5" Rollers - These are good size rollers, and the bigger the better. It will extend the life of the belt, motor, bearings and the rollers.

20 Personal Training Programs - Although these programs do not include audio coaching, you still get a generous variety of training programs. Two are user defined, allowing you to create your own exercise regiment.

When selling for $1,399, the Elite 7000 is a good value. This is a solid machine for jogging and walking. The iFit technology and the 20 training programs offer a variety of challenges. And playing tunes on the sound system can help to pass the time as you are burning calories and getting in shape.
