"Packed with Features"

The standout feature of the NordicTrack A2550 is the 22" wide belt. Why would you want a 22" wide belt? It gives you an extra degree of width that makes walking or jogging a bit more comfortable. Your strides are less confined.

There are actually few treadmills that come with a 22" wide belt, most are 20". In fact, the least expensive one I can think of is the Sole TT8, and it sells for $2,299.

iFIT® Workout Card Technology - The ifit technology is one of the most innovative ideas to come out of the industry. For an extra fee, you can purchase a serious of exercise programs created by professional fitness trainers. It is a great way to get motivated, burn off those extra calories, and get yourself in shape.

Each program offers an 8-week exercise series. They control the speed and the incline of the machine. To further motivate you, the programs include audio coaching. A personal trainer encourages you while providing tips on how to maximize your workout.

2.5 Continuous Duty HP Motor - This motor is sufficient for walkers and joggers. If you are a serious runner you'll want to consider a treadmill with a 3.0 hp motor or better.

Adjustable Cushioning Deck - The NordicTrack A2550 allows you to change the absorption level from soft to stiff. You can adjust for either a firm surface for a better push off or a softer surface for less impact.

iPod Docking Station - You can connect your iPod directly to the treadmill's console, via a special cable (I believe the cable does not come with the treadmill). Speakers are built into the console.

2.5" Rollers - These are decent size rollers, and the bigger the better. It will extend the life of the belt, motor, bearings and the rollers themselves. It also tends to make the machine run quieter.

18 Workout Programs - Although these programs do not include audio coaching, you still get a generous variety of training programs. You get 10 weight loss programs, 8 classic workouts and 4 user define.

Console and Display - Usually I am not that impressed with the NordicTrack treadmill consoles, but the C2550 has one of the better designs. You get five readouts windows that display various feedback.

Review - NordicTrack A2550 Treadmill

When the A2550 is selling at $999, with shipping you are getting a good value. The total package is hard to beat.

There are additional features not listed above, like a Training Zone Indicator, Customer Workout Center and a Fitness Age Center.

Being conservative in my recommendations, I would suggest this treadmill for walking and moderate jogging. I would limit the user weight to about 250 lbs. I would also increase the warranty to at least 2-years parts and labor coverage.
