On a cold winter’s day in December, I braved the frigid weather and sought out a nearby Sports Authority store. My mission: to try out as many treadmills and elliptical trainers as the store had available.
Among the equipment that I investigated was the HealthRider H120t treadmill made by Icon Fitness. According to the salesperson who worked in the fitness equipment department at this particular store, the HealthRider H120t is a hot seller at Sports Authority.
What I Discovered About the HealthRider H120t
As I hopped onto the HealthRider H120t treadmill, I placed my feet on each side of the treadbelt, grasped hold of the handlebars, and proceeded to test the sturdiness of the machine by rocking from side to side. The verdict: the H120t has a nice, sturdy frame!
Next, I studied the console. Not bad! In fact, it’s a quite decent treadmill console. There are even two huge fans that really kick out the air to keep you cool and more comfortable during your workouts. What a difference that breeze makes when you’re in the midst of an intense exercise session!
The control buttons on console of the HealthRider H120t treadmill are easy to read and easy to adjust…even when you’re in motion. The One-Touch Incline feature allows you to increase or decrease the incline level with a single touch. That’s so much easier than having to scroll through the various options until you reach the one you want! (There is also a One-Touch button to control speed.)
The LED displays on the console let you monitor speed, distance, time, calories burned, and pulse rate. With such information readily at hand, you can easily keep track of your progress throughout each session.
Many treadmills today have built-in sound systems. The HealthRider H120t is such a treadmill. This is always a great feature to have if you’re a music lover! Sure makes exercising seem less tedious!

Our Review—The HealthRider H120t Treadmill
Costing around $1000, the HealthRider H120t treadmill seems to be a good machine in its price range. It has a host of nice features. Its frame seems quite sturdy. It is so easy to operate that pretty much anyone who is physically able to walk can use it.
HealthRider is built by Icon Fitness, which also builds ProForm and NordicTrack. They offer some of the best value at the $1,000 price range. You generally will not find treadmills at this with an extra long 60" treadbelt.
